Modernising the West End Riding Club
The Client
West End Riding Club is a long-standing community equestrian organisation in Sussex. Despite their active membership and frequent events, their digital presence had fallen behind. They relied heavily on a legacy website that was difficult to update and a Facebook group that, while active, couldn't handle the logistical weight of a busy club schedule.
The Challenge
Manual Administration: All event entries and payments were handled manually, creating a massive administrative burden for club volunteers.
Decentralised Information: Critical information—membership, results, and merchandise—was scattered across various external platforms and social media posts.
Outdated Branding: The original logo and website didn't reflect the professional standard of the events the club was hosting.
Dependency on Social Media: Without a functional website, the club lacked a "single source of truth" for their members.
The Solution
We established a new, high-performance digital home for the club that prioritises automation and ease of use, ensuring the club's online presence matched their on-the-ground reputation.
1. Brand Refresh & Modernisation
We updated the West End Riding Club logo and visual identity, creating a cleaner, more modern brand that works across both the new website and club merchandise.
2. Integrated Events Engine
The core of the build is a bespoke Events Calendar.
Automated Entries: We integrated a system that allows members to browse events and submit entries directly through the site.
Payment Processing: Manual bank transfers were replaced with secure, automated online payments, streamlining the club's financial operations.
3. The Digital Hub
We centralised the club's entire ecosystem:
Membership: Direct integration with their external membership provider.
Merchandise: A seamless link to their external shop.
Event Results: A dedicated section for event results, allowing members to find information quickly.
4. Technical Autonomy
By building the new platform on Squarespace, we ensured that the club committee could easily update event dates, upload results, and manage content without needing constant technical support.
