Web design in Sussex. Built to get you found and bring in enquiries.

We work with local businesses, tradespeople and growing companies across Sussex who want a website that does more than just exist.

Your Sussex web design experts

We're a Sussex-based web design agency specialising in Squarespace. We've built websites for businesses across the county — from Brighton and Hove to Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Horsham, Crawley, Littlehampton, Chichester and East Grinstead — and we understand what local businesses actually need from their website.

We're not a large agency with account managers and lengthy processes. You deal directly with the person designing and building your site, from first conversation to launch — and beyond, if you want ongoing support.

What we do for Sussex businesses

We offer three core services, and we're honest about which one your business actually needs.

Website Design & Build

We design and build Squarespace websites from scratch — tailored to your business, your brand and your customers. Every site includes proper SEO foundations, mobile-optimised design, SSL security, and a handover session so you can manage it yourself if you want to.

Ongoing Support & Maintenance

Once your site is live, we offer monthly support plans that keep everything running smoothly — content updates, technical fixes, and the peace of mind that comes from having someone on hand who knows your site inside out.

More on our support plans.

SEO & Google Visibility

Getting found on Google takes consistent, honest work. We offer monthly SEO plans that include on-page optimisation, content improvements, Google Business Profile management, and transparent monthly reporting. No overnight promises — just steady, measurable progress.

Common questions about web design in Sussex

About working with us

  • Not strictly — but there are real advantages to working with someone who knows the area. We understand the Sussex market, we've worked with businesses across the county, and if you ever want to meet in person, that's easy to arrange. Most of our clients find that having a local contact they can actually speak to makes the whole process less stressful.

  • The easiest way is to book a free 30-minute consultation. We'll talk through what you need, what you're hoping to achieve, and give you an honest recommendation — with no obligation and no hard sell. If we're a good fit, we'll put together a detailed proposal within 24 hours.

  • You'll deal directly with the person designing and building your site throughout the project. There are no account managers or handoffs — just a consistent point of contact who knows your business.

The build process

  • For most builds, once we have your content — text, images, and any specific requirements — we work to a four-week turnaround. More complex projects may take six to eight weeks. The part that most often causes delays is waiting for content from the client, so we give clear guidance on what we need and when.

  • Mainly your written content and any photos or images you want to use. We'll guide you through exactly what we need and in what format. If you don't have professional photography, we can advise on stock image options that work well for your industry.

  • Yes — every site we build is fully responsive, meaning it adapts automatically to any screen size. We check and refine the mobile experience as a standard part of every build, not an afterthought.

  • We build exclusively on Squarespace. It's the platform we know inside out, and we recommend it for most small businesses because it's secure, fast, easy for you to update yourself, and requires no ongoing plugin maintenance. If Squarespace isn't right for your project, we'll tell you honestly rather than push you into it.

SEO and Google visibility

  • Every website we build includes proper SEO foundations — page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt tags, and a sitemap submitted to Google. This gives your site the best possible starting point for ranking. Getting to the top of Google for competitive search terms takes longer and depends on ongoing SEO work, but you won't be starting from scratch.

  • Basic SEO foundations are included in every build — these are the technical elements that tell Google what your site is about. Ongoing SEO is a separate service where we actively work to improve your rankings over time: refining content, building local visibility, managing your Google Business Profile, and tracking what's working. Most businesses need both.

  • Honestly — it depends. For local searches in less competitive areas, you might see movement within a few months. For more competitive terms, it can take six months to a year of consistent work. Anyone promising you page one rankings in a matter of weeks is overpromising. We give you realistic expectations and transparent monthly reporting so you always know what's happening.

  • If you serve local customers, yes — a well-managed Google Business Profile is one of the most effective things you can do for local visibility. It's often the first thing people see when they search for a local service, and it's separate from your website ranking. We manage Google Business Profiles as part of our ongoing support service.

Costs and ongoing support

  • Our websites start from £2,000 and are priced based on the size and complexity of the project. We provide a detailed proposal before any work begins, so you know exactly what you're getting and what it costs. There are no hidden fees.

  • Squarespace charges an annual or monthly subscription for hosting — this is paid directly to Squarespace and typically costs between £150 and £300 per year depending on the plan. Beyond that, ongoing costs are entirely up to you. We offer optional monthly support and SEO plans, but there's no obligation to use them.

  • Our monthly support plans typically include content updates and edits, technical fixes, monthly SEO work, and Google Business Profile management. Plans start from £49 per month — we'll recommend what makes sense for your business rather than the most expensive option.

  • Yes — Squarespace is designed to be manageable without technical knowledge. We show you how to make basic updates as part of the handover process. For anything more involved, or if you'd rather not deal with it yourself, that's what our support plans are there for.

Local coverage

  • We work with businesses across Sussex — including Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Crawley, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, East Grinstead, Littlehampton, Chichester, and everywhere in between. Most of our work is done remotely, so location is rarely a barrier — but we're always happy to meet in person if that helps.
